Another exciting day to report in the field of Field Services. After my third attempt, I was finally able to obtain needed photographs from a store that I reviewed days earlier. Most of us celebrated Labor Day on Monday by NOT working and this store was normally closed on Sundays.
Since I did not check the business hours prior to my visit on Sunday and finding it closed, I was sure to check the store for any sign or notification about being closed on Monday, for the holiday. A lot of stores were open and people enjoy eating fried fish on Labor day. Alas the fish market was NOT open on the Labor Day holiday. Sign be damned.
Even though the temperature was in the 90's, I felt cold and alone as I peered through the barred glass window; wishing I could be inside. T.W.Y.G. (That's What You Get...) I did not check the business hours before I went out.
Lesson learned: Remember to check the store/business hours before going out to do a visit and before routing your work. Don't put off your visit until "tomorrow" or you might find yourself stuck out in the cold, or the heat, as it were.
